Ashan Singh is a multiplatform reporter for ABC News’
“Nightline.”

Singh began his career in journalism as a freelance production
associate at “Nightline” in 2016. Since then, he has held various
roles on the show, including on-air contributor and producer, before
being named multiplatform reporter in 2022.

His reporting takes viewers on narrative, journey-driven experiences
that help contextualize the issues defining the country and world
today. He has explored emerging technologies, elevated
underrepresented communities, and interviewed some of the biggest
names in pop culture, including Lil Nas X, Cardi B, D-Nice and the
Brothers Osborne.

Singh’s investigative work highlighted hotbed political issues
throughout the country, including cannabis legalization, restorative
justice and, most recently, a sit-down interview with Brian Flores
about his systemic racism class action lawsuit against the NFL. In
addition to “Nightline,” Singh has also been featured in a variety
of ABC News programs and platforms, including “Good Morning
America” and “ABC News Live Prime.”

Singh was recognized as part of the 2021 NABJ (National Association of
Black Journalists) awards for his work on “Nightline”’s
“Turning Point: Lens of History.”

Singh is a graduate of Tulane University and received his master’s
from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. He was born in
Mumbai, India, and raised in the greater Boston area.
